Apple now has two more sizably voluminous iPhones: one immensely colossal, the other even more immensely colossal.
The iPhone 6 sports a 4.7-inch screen, while the iPhone 6 Plus goes full "phablet" with a 5.5-inch exhibit. Compared to earlier iPhones, both of the incipient models boast thinner bodies, ship with more expeditious A8 processors, marginally amended cameras, more expeditious Wi-Fi and LTE cellular data, better voice quality if you're utilizing voice-over-LTE, and -- except in the ingress-level models -- more onboard storage.
And like all current iPhones, these are running iOS 8.1; it's a far less revolutionary update than iOS 7 was, but it integrates some nice ameliorations and customization options, including notification widgets, replaceable keyboards, an incipient Health app and Apple Pay.
Both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are very evenly matched, but the more immensely colossal model boasts an upgraded camera and longer battery life.
In our authentic-world testing, the optical image stabilization of the 6 Plus's camera didn't seem to distribute appreciably better photos than the already excellent camera on the iPhone 6. On the other hand, our battery test found that the iPhone 6's battery life was essentially identical to that of last year's iPhone 5S, while the more immensely colossal battery in the 6 Plus distributed at least two and a moiety hours more battery life just for video, and more depending on your utilization case. (Be sure to check out CNET's full review of the iPhone 6 Plus.)
For hard-core Android fans, well, there are Android phones that cost less, have higher-resolution screens (and screens even more sizably voluminous than the 6 Plus), boast better battery life, have removable SD card storage, and even removable batteries.
And the Android camp has an all-incipient operating system, additionally, with Android 5.0 Lollipop. You won't find any of these on an iPhone 6; you can't have everything in Apple-land.
That verbally expressed, the more astronomically immense screens of the incipient iPhones coalesced with iOS 8's bevy of familiar customization features make the 6/6 Plus the most alluring iPhone generation yet, and the most tempting to Android owners in years.
